For over 100 years

A talent for fish

It’s hard to believe that the Schiefer fish farm in the Passeier Valley has been in existence for well over a century. Built around 1900, it has undergone continual development, taken on new activities, won loyal clients and always retained a high level of quality. And one thing has never changed over the years: the great passion with which we care for our fish. Take a look back at the past with us!
From 1900

The early beginnings

Historical fish stock records reveal that the Schiefer fish farm was built around 1900. At that time marble trout and brown trout were among the first and most important fish species.

The reconstruction

The fish farm was re-established after the turmoil of the First World War.
In the 1960s, collaboration with other fish farmers was intensified.
In the 1970s and 80s.

Everything re-newed

A new family house was constructed in 1972. In the meantime, several new fish species such as rainbow trout, brook trout and Arctic char were also added to the fish farm.

Restructuring

In 1999 the facility was reconstructed and the fish processing unit was expanded. A further expansion of the facility took place in 2010, during which a modern hatchery and storeroom were built.
Today

Timeless passion

In 2016, the fish farm facility was expanded once again and has now developed into a popular point of contact for fishing clubs, the restaurant and wholesale trade sectors, other fish breeders and private clients. We are delighted by all the excellent interest we have received and will continue our commitment and passion for humans and fish.
